SIDRA INTERSECTION is an advanced micro-analytical traffic evaluation tool that employs lane-by-lane and vehicle drive cycle models. SIDRA INTERSECTION is a renowned software package used worldwide for intersection capacity, level of service and performance analysis by traffic design, operations and planning professionals.

Using SIDRA INTERSECTION, you can evaluate and compare capacity, level of service and performance of alternative treatments involving signalised intersections, roundabouts, two-way stop and give-way (yield) sign-control, all-way stop sign control, single-point urban interchanges, signalised midblock crossings for pedestrians, all in one package. Intersections with up to 8 legs, each as a two-way road, one-way approach or one-way exit can be modelled with ease.
The Highway Capacity Manual (HCM 2000) version of SIDRA INTERSECTION offers options for US Customary and Metric units.
SIDRA INTERSECTION is the most popular traffic software for roundabouts (multi-lane and single-lane) and other intersections in the USA, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, Malaysia, and elsewhere around the world. To see why, visit our Roundabouts and SIDRA for Roundabouts web pages.
SIDRA INTERSECTION helps you estimate the cost, energy and pollution implications of your intersection design using a unique vehicle drive-cycle model (acceleration, deceleration, idling, cruise). Click here for further information.
SIDRA INTERSECTION is not a traffic safety design or evaluation software package. We recommend the use of appropriate safety analysis and audit tools for this purpose.
Advanced signal timing options such as green split priority for coordinated movements, equal and unequal target degrees of saturation, cycle time optimisation for fixed-time (pretimed) signal analysis, and maximum green optimisation for actuated signal analysis.
Determine signal timings (fixed-time / pretimed and actuated) for any intersection geometry allowing for simple as well as complex phasing arrangements.
New Generation Version 3
The new generation SIDRA INTERSECTION version 3 (first released in August 2006) runs under the latest Microsoft .NET framework version 2 in full Windows environment. There has been significant restructuring of input data, the defaults system, file management, options and other program facilities. There are many aspects of these changes that will affect the model use.
